Amy Lock, CNA1 – Owner, Agency Director, Caregiver
While always having senior friends and spending endless hours enjoying their company and “helping out” wherever she could, Amy officially entered the senior care arena in 2010 when her mother became critically ill. This experience began her journey towards opening a home care agency for seniors. Amy cares for her father who co-locates between her home and his own. She has a BA with honors in Communications from UNC – Wilmington and an MS in Management from Pfeiffer University. She is a Certified Nursing Assistant and has a Six Sigma Green Belt in Healthcare from Villanova.
Deborah Williams, RN – Field Supervisor, Caregiver
Her passion for healthcare and senior care made her a perfect fit within Companion and Home Care, LLC where she initially met us as the adult child of our client. Debbie liked our approach to home care and later joined our team. Debbie’s experience includes RN staff nurse in a hospital and pediatric setting, home health case manager with several home health agencies and case manager in a large insurance agency. A North Carolina native, Debbie earned her LPN and her Associate RN from Central Carolina Community College in Sanford, NC, then her BSRN from Georgia Baptist College of Nursing at Mercer Univeristy.
Patti Schweis, RN – Field Supervisor, Caregiver
A veteran in the field of nursing, Patti has a passion for aging in place. Patti has worked in skilled nursing facilities as a charge nurse, in nursing quality control, home hospice and most recently as the hospice volunteer coordinator for Hospice of Carteret County and the Crystal Coast Hospice House where she also served as vice president of the board’s foundation. Patti has served as chair of the Carteret County Board of Health. Patti was also instrumental in founding the Carteret County Coalition for Advance Directives.
Kathy Godwin, CNA1 – Caregiver
Kathy is a gifted caregiver who has worked with all ages including the profoundly disabled. She goes beyond the call of duty and adds her very personal touch to caregiving in the home.
Jessica Cartwright, CNA1 – Caregiver
Her caregiving experience with the profoundly disabled , in-home care and personal care giving fostered her desire to help seniors stay at home. Jessica has a way of connecting with each of our clients regardless of their level of need.
Maureen Wells – Companion
Maureen has been working with seniors for years and has found her passion in geriatric nutrition. Maureen believes that good nutrition is key to not only good physical health and strength but to a healthy mind and spirit as well.
Mary McGibney, CNA1 – Caregiver
Mary’s experience with both elder care and special needs of the profoundly disabled uniquely qualifies her as a versatile caregvier. Although Mary has a soft-spoken approach with all our clients she also has the strength to handle their needs both physically and emotionally.
Alyssa Guzmnan, IHA – Caregiver,
Alyssa is both a natural and gifted caregiver who easily adapts to each client. Without exception, every client and client family for whom she has provided care gives her glowing reviews.
Ruth Anne Scruggs, IHA – Caregiver

Rose joined our team as an invaluable companion with extensive dementia and Alzheimer’s care experience. Her experience in providing in-home care to seniors with dementia is giving us all insight into ways to provide assurance to our clients and support to their families.
Patsy Brooks, IHA – Caregiver
Patsy joined our team as an in-home aide trained in residential facilities and in-home in Vermont. She has dementia and Alzheimer’s care experience and has proven herself a natural to adapting to the personalities and needs of our individual clients.
